Flowering Quince fruit reportedly make a delicious and fragrant syrup, high in Vitamin C and possessing a strong lemony flavor.
Prized for their fruit and for their ornamental value, Flowering Quince make an attractive complement to the yard or garden. Ours has been on our farm for decades!
It is a very hardy shrub that grows from four to six feet in height. They are early blooming and offer the first taste of spring to our northern landscapes. Ours is a contorted variety and adds the beauty of its twisted, gnarled branches to its striking red blossoms. You can even bring branches of Flowering Quince indoors in winter and force them into bloom.
